Group

Located in northern France, the COUSIN® group specializes in the manufacture of reinforced fibers, ropes, and innovative textile braids. With nearly 180 years of experience, COUSIN® is the leading technical and professional expert in the sports and industrial sectors.

The latest technological investments have positioned the group in the largest international markets. COUSIN® reinvests approximately 5% of its turnover in Research and Development every year. Eight engineers and state-of-the-art equipment enable the group to meet the most technical demands.

Manufacturer of innovative textile braids for visible performance

The COUSIN® group is a rope manufacturer that has specialized since 1848 in processing fibers, mostly synthetic, through twisting, cabling, braiding, and impregnation. With a professional clientele from a wide range of fields such as sports (water sports, climbing, caving, hiking, mountaineering, paragliding, kitesurfing, etc.), safety (working at height, rescue, handling, events, etc.) and industrial applications (offshore, lifting, automotive) and military, COUSIN® is the benchmark in the rope market.

EXPERT IN FIBER REINFORCEMENT

Using the polymer extrusion spinning process, COUSIN® manufactures thousands of kilometers of non-metallic composite rods every year. These are industrial reinforcement rods, braided, made of E-glass fiber and a curable thermoplastic resin.

These rods can be sheathed for many uses.

COUSIN® uses the most technical processes to improve the performance of many fibers. This is achieved through cutting-edge technologies, polymer extrusion spinning (PA11/PA12/RPA6/PC/PEI/TPE/PPS/PEEK), coating, co-extrusion, assembly, braiding, and over-braiding. All this for a wide range of applications in industries such as automotive, rail, aeronautics, medical, construction, sports, and leisure.

The Group regularly partners with European research programs and institutes.

MANUFACTURER OF THE STRINGS FOR TOMORROW’S RACKETS

Thanks to its diverse expertise, COUSIN® is positioned as one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of tennis and squash strings.

COUSIN® has developed two high-performance manufacturing processes that position the group as Europe’s leading manufacturer of racket strings.

The “multifilament” process is based on bicomponent melt spinning, which allows all thermoplastic polymers that can be processed below 400°C to be used.

The more exclusive “monofilament” process is achieved through the extrusion and stretching of polymers.

This unique expertise has attracted major brands. 100% of Tecnifibre tennis and squash strings come from our workshops, as does a large part of the Wilson range.

The latest addition is the Soft Razor string, used by Daniil Medvedev and Iga Swiatek, among others.

DES HAUTS STANDARDS DE QUALITÉ

The COUSIN® Group has obtained ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications, recognizing its commitment to quality, environmental management, and workplace safety. This is the result of controlled organization, optimized processes, and a strong desire to preserve resources while ensuring the well-being of employees and the quality of products for end customers.

The Group’s excellence in expertise has also been recognized by the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV) label, awarded by the French government to companies with exceptional craftsmanship and industrial skills. This prestigious label recognizes decades of technical mastery, innovation, and knowledge transfer.

Finally, the Group’s environmental commitment is reinforced by the Coq Vert label, awarded by Bpifrance and ADEME, which brings together pioneering companies in the ecological transition. This label highlights a concrete commitment to reducing carbon footprints and promoting sustainable practices in both production and management.

Following the publication of an initial carbon assessment, an Impact Committee was set up, comprising around ten employees tasked with accelerating sustainable projects.
